For many HEIs delivering apprenticeships, ESFA compliance and auditing will be new. To deliver apprenticeships successfully and avoid minimising any clawback of funds, HEIs will need to have a clear understanding of ESFA evidence and financial assurance requirements.
This one-day workshop for HEIs will give you a clear overview of the ESFA’s auditing processes, the broader financial assurance system for apprenticeships, and how you, as an HEI, can self-assess your compliance ahead of any ESFA monitoring.
The workshop, taking place on Tues, 5th March (10am – 4pm) in London, will take you through:
- An overview of ESFA compliance and audit processes
- What evidence ESFA auditors will want to see
- Establishing an evidence collection system as an HEI – blending quality with compliance
- How to sample the quality of your data and reduce errors
- Examples of effective practice and actions you can take with your staff
Who this workshop is for
This workshop is for any HEI looking for a greater understanding of ESFA evidence requirements, auditing processes and apprenticeship funding assurance more broadly – allowing you to meet the funding rules and safeguard funding. Delegates, for example, may include senior managers, mid-level managers or operational staff from Universities and other HEI institutions.
Facilitators and speakers
The workshop will be facilitated by SDN Senior Associates, David Lockhart-Hawkins and Mandy Crawford-Lee (also Director of Policy at UVAC). David lives and breathes the ESFA funding rules and has worked with HEIs across the country to establish effective compliance systems. Mandy, as a former ESFA senior manager, has an expert understanding of the apprenticeship funding system and what this looks like in practice for HEIs.
