Every nominee deserves proper preparation.
Being named as an Ofsted nominee is a significant responsibility but often, people step into the role without dedicated training. Based on client demand, we have created this two-session online programme that gives nominees across FE colleges, universities, and independent training providers the introductory knowledge, confidence and practical tools to represent their organisation credibly during inspection as an outcome of effective planning.
Focused entirely on pre-inspection preparation, it combines expert input, practical activities and facilitated reflection to build real capability, not just awareness.
This programme will help you to:
- Understand the full scope and boundaries of the nominee role
- Know your data and present it with confidence and accuracy
- Respond to inspector questions calmly and credibly
- Walk into inspection preparation with a clear personal brief
As part of this workshop series, you will receive a Nominee preparation template to support pre-inspection planning activity.
Session Breakdown
Session 1 Understanding the role and owning your evidence
- What it actually means to be the nominee
- Knowing your data (and helping others to know theirs)
- Your self-assessment and QIP as living evidence
Session 2 Communicating confidently and preparing practically
- How inspectors ask questions — and how to answer them
- Presenting your provider’s story
- Building your personal nominee brief
We recommend taking the time to visit the Ofsted Academy recordings prior to joining to develop a base level of understanding of inspection.
