Apprenticeship Workforce Development live-online and face-to-face courses now open for bookings

Booking is now open for live-online, face-to-face and in-house Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) courses, complementing the existing on-demand course offer from phase one of the programme. These nine fully-funded courses support all those involved in the delivery of apprenticeships, from those new to trainer/assessor/teacher roles, through to strategic leaders, governors and governance professionals supporting apprenticeship delivery.

The new live-online and face-to-face courses are available to book via the Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF) booking system. In-house training sessions can also be requested via the booking system. These new courses complement the eight existing on-demand FutureLearn courses from phase one of the AWD programme, with an additional course to complement the ‘Working Effectively with Employers’ guide published in December last year.

The courses include support for effective teaching, learning, and resource use when delivering apprenticeships. Courses are also available to support the design and delivery of apprenticeship curricula, the development of your team delivering apprenticeships, effective working with employers, and more. Book now to secure your place.

What is the AWD programme?

Funded by the Department for Education (DfE), the AWD programme initially launched in 2021 to support staff at all levels and roles delivering apprenticeships across Further and Higher Education settings. The second phase of AWD launched in August 2022, and is being delivered by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) in partnership with the Association of Colleges (AoC), Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP), Strategic Development Network (SDN) and University Vocational Awards Council (UVAC). This phase of AWD extends support to employers involved in apprenticeship delivery.

New CPD resources are being developed for the current phase of AWD following a process of training needs analysis (TNA), which has involved a sector-wide survey, focus groups, sector research, and the expertise of all delivery partners. These new CPD resources, informed by the TNA process, will be delivered in Autumn 2023.
