Ready to dive in? We’ve got blogs, discounts on apprenticeship CPD and a free recorded webinar from our Apprenticeship Summit event, which brings together insight and practical support from SDN’s leading specialists to help you refine your strategy and apprenticeship practice – all that and more below!
Over the years, we’ve worked with hundreds of apprenticeship providers, EPAOs and employers to share our knowledge, expertise, and connections, and to provide practical solutions to help you take your apprenticeships to the next level.
Celebrating apprenticeship practitioners’ achievements
During National Apprenticeship Week, the country, quite rightly, focuses on apprentices and employers that have benefitted from apprenticeship training.
SDN works day-in and day-out supporting apprenticeship practitioners to continuously improve their practice. That’s why we wanted to reflect on three obstacles that apprenticeship providers have overcome in the past few years and shine a light on the ‘skills for life’ that practitioners have had to call upon to continue delivering apprenticeships in these turbulent times.
We hope this blog, by SDN Associate Phil Golding, helps you to reflect on your own team’s achievements and acknowledge internally how far you’ve moved the dial in recent times…

Apprenticeship CPD & Events
We’re delivering a programme of webinars, workshops, and in-depth masterclasses around a variety of topics we know you’ll be interested in.
We also work in partnership with Mesma, Psych-Logical, Lockhart-Hawkins and Quantum Rise to provide further solutions to help you take your apprenticeships to the next level.

Support from SDN Associates
Our team of Associates also provide consultancy services, such as audits, mock assessments, training and CPD, curriculum materials and market research, that can be offered on a one-off or retainer basis, or as a packaged solution.
Celebrating our apprentices
We’re a small, but enterprising team here at SDN’s HQ, and we believe in the power of apprenticeships. That’s why three members of our team are either in the process of completing an apprenticeship or are nearing the end of one.

National Initiatives
We’re excited to be working on the Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) programme, delivered by the ETF, in partnership with the AOC, AELP and UVAC. In 2023, we’ll be rolling out sector wide CPD for all those delivering apprenticeships. SDN has developed a new downloadable guide “Working effectively with employers” with checklists, self-assessments and action plans, to support apprenticeship providers in working effectively with employers.
Starting this summer, a new programme of CPD and support will be made freely available to all those delivering apprenticeships, building on the existing AWD offer. It’s part of the government’s long-term investment in the apprenticeship workforce – helping staff in all roles and settings to improve the quality of training for apprentices and employers.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we're hosting a free 45-minute webinar session, where we’ll:
- Explore the top challenges and opportunities for apprenticeship providers.
- Share insights from our sector-wide survey on the CPD needs of the sector.
- Hear from Chris Fairclough – Curriculum lead at Lakes College and ETF & Royal Commission Technical Teaching Fellow – about the lessons learnt and successes of their apprenticeship journey
- Highlight CPD coming down the track for staff across your organisation, and the support already available.
- Respond to any questions you may have.
